Agost
Els Pets
August
Sisquet, shirtless, is running late,
says goodbye to the gang.
They vaccinated him against the asphalt
in a coastal village.
Where in hiding she waits
behind the church
half trembling
that kiss
that will taste like sea salt and a night
full of stars.
Sweaty Cesc woke up
from his nap,
while next to him his woman
is storing sand toys and shovels.
And watching as the girl
covered in sand
sleeps on the couch
she thinks she will never
have a better time to go look for
the couple.
Let August come
heavy and lazy
that reminds us
of the beauty of time passing slowly.
From the cafe Mr. Francesc
watches people pass by
having his coffee where for so many years
he has a reserved spot in the shade.
And when his woman arrives
he pulls a chair closer
beside him
and holds her hand
thinking that the sea is like life
that never stops its rhythm.
Let August come
vibrant and catchy
to rid us of the rush
and regain the tenderness of the world.
Let August come
heavy and lazy
that reminds us
of the beauty of time passing slowly.
