Fiesta En Elorza
Eneas Perdomo
Party in Elorza
On the 19th of March
I was invited to a dance
To the town of Elorza
To its patron saint festivities
Its girls so pretty
Adorned with their beauty
And under the llanero sky
They strolled through the streets
With smiles of joy
And scents of sheets
And at the break of dawn
With the spirit of a party
Singing to the girls
I found myself in Elorza
And among sticks of aguardiente
I happily passed my days
And on a Monday morning
Beginning of the week
My eyes bid farewell
To that beautiful sight
Remembering with affection
Girl, town, and savannah
Llanero dies singing
Even if the soul is in pain
I am born in Apure
Singer of the flat land
And tomorrow when I die
Don't cry for me, my countrymen
Bury me in Arauca
In the shade of a mata palo
And may the river foam
Bring distant memories
