A very popular carnival rhythm

The worn-out sneakers
From dancing so much down the avenue
The bass drum and the banners
My companions in this life
It's a tradition of my town
Heritage of the black people who arrived here
I dedicate it to them
Playing the drum with emotion

With the parade I want to dance
And thus be able to forget the sorrows
I dance to this rhythm of bass drum and drum
Which is like my heart
