Desencanto

What a deep disappointment,
what a brutal disappointment!
How much desire to throw oneself on the ground
and start crying!

Tired of seeing life,
which always mocks
and shatters
my song and my faith.

Life is a tomb of dreams
with crosses that, open,
ask... for what?

And to think that in my childhood
I so much aspired, that when dreaming
I forged so much illusion;
I still hear my mother,
I hear her deceiving me,
because life denied me
the hopes that in the cradle
she sang to me.
