My elders tell stories in black and white
Of the suffering they faced as young ones in the fields of my town.
Rebellious soldiers backed by local bosses,
Blessed by the church, they rose up with arms
For the children of their children and their own freedom.
They leave behind the plows, family, and a home.
To end fascism, shout land and freedom.
Many of those who march will never return again.
