E tu davanti a me
Erminio Sinni
And you in front of me
Summer is over and the bars are closed for vacation
those who have a woman stay at home and rent the latest series of videotapes
it's a night without bright signs, yellow traffic lights and no one on the street
as the hours pass by, thick and silence is a sharp sword.
I turn on the car radio and look for sunny music
drive slowly and smoke something without following itineraries
I can't help but think of us, how everything was so different
when the evenings suddenly lit up and I was a planet at the center of the universe.
And you, in front of me! It's a red sky over Rome
and you above me, mane in the wind and lungs
swollen with sounds of Africa, ancient and still new rituals
and large stork wings and foam conquering the beach
and exploring you, borderless freeing ourselves and the rain
And drying off, breathing, reconquering, hurting
sucking blood and then landing like a marine on your heart.
And I really liked combing your hair
those billions of black devils, the extreme tip of your thoughts
how different we were, kinder and perhaps more dreamy
us lost inside the room and everything, the whole world outside.
And you, in front of me! and a red sky over Rome
and you above me, a festive crew of pirates
bursting onto the deck and singing, sun in their faces and drunk.
And still you above me and an ecstasy of hands and hips
and velvety backs and curls falling heavily
and prairies of silk, light beats of wings
comet tail light and your depths transparent
and drying off, breathing, reconquering, hurting
sucking blood and then landing like a marine on your heart.
