And
They tell you how he transformed
into a tree because he wished it, and he stayed
planted there watching
the earth where new flowers were born
and he was
shelter for the rabbit and hummingbird
and the wind taught those who know yes
wild honey and resin, and...
the rain bathed him
and his happiness said to himself
that... that... I know I found it now
that.. because I have
all the time for myself
I don't need anyone else
all the beauty of life is for me
(spoken)
'And a girl passed by
whose eyes
had stolen from the sky
the shine of two stars.'
and his roots
shuddered
How much sudden confusion inside him
that which only a man feels without a woman
and he extended his branches
towards her
he felt that happiness
is never half
of infinity
then he was at the same time sun and moon
cloud and music
he was time, laughter and tears
and meanwhile
he was a man who woke up to life
he was
like the song that filled
his immense solitudes
that true part
that an enchanted fable
hides within itself
to be authentic
