In my little school the teacher taught me
The story of Bolivar our liberator
Riding his horse and with great courage
With hundreds of soldiers he formed his battalion

On July 24th the child Simon was born
And when he was little his mommy died
The black woman Hipolita with dedication
Fed him from her breast with tenderness and love

Like every good child he had to study
And Simon Rodriguez came to teach him
He formed his soul and his heart
He gave him wisdom and education

Next to other heroes Bolivar fought
Against the tyrant and the Spanish kingdom
An admirable campaign he left us free and that's why they call him the liberator!
