Quem Era Eu
Esther Fiaux
Who Was I
When I stop to think about everything I lived through
That I almost, very nearly, didn't survive
When I think about who I am and who I was
There's no doubting it was God's hand
If it weren't for His hand, I wouldn't be here
Where God made a fresh start, would have been my end
He entered the story and turned the tables
To whom no one gave anything, He chose
Thank goodness God doesn't see as man sees
That He chooses whom no one else wants to choose
Thank goodness He enters someone's house
Just to perform miracles
Thank goodness He takes what is undervalued
The vessel broken by someone, He restored
After He laid His hand, its value increased
Just to summarize the story: That vessel was me
It was me, but He chose
It was me, but He lifted
It was me, but He wanted to use
It was me, but He exalted
It was me, but He chose
It was me, but He lifted
It was me, but He wanted to use
It was me, but He exalted
I was the broken vessel
Leaning, unwanted by anyone
But God decided to take me to His pottery
And He wrote a new story
Who was I?
Who was I?
Who was I?
Thank goodness God doesn't see as man sees
That He chooses whom no one else wants to choose
Thank goodness He enters someone's house
Just to perform miracles
Thank goodness He takes what is undervalued
The vessel broken by someone, He restored
After He laid His hand, its value increased
Just to summarize the story: That vessel was me
It was me, but He chose
It was me, but He lifted
It was me, but He wanted to use
It was me, but He exalted
It was me, but He chose
It was me, but He lifted
It was me, but He decided to use
It was me, but He exalted
(It was me, the broken vessel) it was me
(Leaning, unwanted by anyone) He chose
(Who was I?)
(Who was I?)
It was me
