De nuevo en el bus

Back on the Bus
Back on the bus
After spending two months and a week in Guyana, I returned to Caracas
Back on the bus
I never imagined I’d run into that girl again
In Puerto La Cruz
She figured out the whole story and completely cut me off after I had her all wrapped up
Back on the bus
And like a twist of fate, I ended up sitting next to her again
What a surprise I got, folks, I greeted her with a voice that was pretty flat
Afraid she wouldn’t respond or would kick me to the curb
But it was the opposite
She said: I’m good, and you? How’s life treating you?
You can tell from her face that life never mistreats her
I said from the heart: I owe you an explanation
And she said: No need, I’m the one who should apologize for that insult and even mentioning your dad
And if you had a fling, I don’t know how long ago, it happens to every guy
Let’s forget all that so tonight can be nice
She gave me a sweet little kiss that tasted like honey
Oh, it almost knocked me out
I was so emotional I felt my heart pounding in my throat
And I thought to myself: Now I’m really happy because I’m not letting this one slip away
Today my cockroach catcher is gonna catch this cockroach
Then came the best part
Because she said: My love, I’ve missed you so much
You know I broke up with that boyfriend from Upata, since I met you, you’re all I think about
I don’t know what’s happening to me, it must be a great love that’s growing in my chest
Between kisses, it got short and we arrived in Caracas
When we got to the stop, I got off holding onto the lady, I looked like a tick
And she smiled and said: Get ready, even if it’s not Easter time
Tonight I’ll let you try my hallaca
My mouth watered because that’s really tempting
Even if it’s not made with lapa meat
And since I had dinner with fruit, I prayed to Saint Luke
Just giving thanks
I celebrated that moment happier than a rabbit with sweet potatoes
Because of the girl from the bus
Ju-
Finally, I took her to the plaza
