Kom I Min Famn
Evert Taube
Come Into My Arms
Come into my arms and let’s dance
here a waltz, my Rosmari.
The night is sweet, just smile and dance!
Playful and light, you float,
like a butterfly stirred by the summer breeze,
or like the shy doe.
Leaning on my arm, you gently bow your head
and your golden hair
shines with youth and smells of spring,
you smile hesitantly at the enticing tones,
easy and playful, the waltz flows.
The windows open to the summer night,
the flowers scent the air and the bay’s water
reflects the rising moon
that stands red over Ingarö forest.
The wind has fallen asleep in the boats’ sails,
out over Baggensfjärden, the tones glide,
the seagulls rest quietly in the moonlight.
What would life be, Rosmari, without song and dance?
In the lovely and cool twilight of summer nights,
in tones that seductively invite to the ball,
in dance, in dance we forget time and space!
Come, let’s go in the scent of flowers,
light and tones lead us to the land of dreams.
