Mist Islands
I still feel my feet on the ground
Where my grandparents used to dance
The beautiful Aurora and the Sapateia
It's black basalt that runs through my veins
And in memory, volcanoes and earthquakes
That's why I'm from the mist islands
Where seagulls come to kiss the land
If in my gaze I carry the languor of the waves
The gaze is the sweetness of the lagoons
It's because I carry the tenderness of hydrangeas
In my heart the ardor of the calderas
That's why I'm from the mist islands
Where seagulls come to kiss the land
It's black basalt that runs through my veins
In my heart the ardor of the calderas
The immense sea fills my soul
And I have green, so much green showing me hope
