Zamba when I hear your accents
My whole soul turns into earth
I feel you green and humid by the sugarcane field
Handkerchief in the tents when carnival arrives!

Zamba when you bring in the wind
The bitter taste of dust
Thirsty Chaco rolls zambas through the quebracho forest
Thirsty Chaco writhes through the sugar mill

At the edge of the axe that grinds them incessantly
Oh little zamba under an arch of violinist coyuyos
Violinists
Lulled by the huairas of altipampa
And settled in the hearts of the northerners

Zamba like the river also grows
Love and blood through the veins
A drum, a guitar are digging your arrival
The moon, handkerchiefs and gazes while dancing

Zamba when they hear your chords
The whole north dresses up for a party
