En Busca de Ella

In Search of Her
not even a reason from her mouth could leave me
much less a little note the day she left
I anxiously searched for her everywhere
desperate, I even reached the island of San Andrés.
then I returned to the point of her departure
looking to see who could give me an explanation
I looked at the sea, I looked at the waves and remained optimistic
but unlucky because no one gave me a reason.
you can't imagine the damage her absence has caused me
but I keep waiting, I know that one day she will return
goodbye love of my soul, goodbye my dear black woman
may God take you and bring you back, happy and full of life
I I
I arrived at the dock where the pirate ship was parked
and asked with anguish and desperation
what direction that ship is taking where she embarked
but unlucky because no one gave me a reason.
the next day a twelve-year-old boy told me
she left on a ship of another nationality
by the flags it seems to be American
but it seems to be heading towards Canada.
you can't imagine the damage her absence has caused me
but I keep waiting, I know that one day she will return.
goodbye love of my soul, goodbye my dear black woman
may God take you and bring you back, happy and full of life
