Egil Saga
Faun
Egil Saga
She's had a long lack of strength
And that was a great shame
She got no night's sleep and was
Like a bedpost
Runes have been carved, and there is one farmer's son
Not far away, who did that
And since then much
Worse than before
Egil carved runes and placed them under the headrest
In the bed where she rested
To the pot where she woke from sleep and said
That she was whole
A man should not carve runes
Unless he can interpret them well
It becomes a great sorrow
When a man wild with dark staves
I saw on a carved plank
Ten reward staves carved
That has tied the linden
Long-lasting sorrow
