Seems Simple
[Fedez]
Artist life
Drinking beer and feeling like the star
Spending half the time pretending to have fun
Hiding my sad eyes like I could pull it off
Talking to myself, there’s not much to say
I can’t stand the bad guys, but the good ones make me sick
Still undecided on who to root for
Better to keep my mouth shut or my hands tied
Or a river of words flowing into a sea of bullshit
So many fake kisses and so many handshakes
But in this slimy scene, friends don’t exist
And no matter how great it is to be in the spotlight
Those lights don’t follow you once you’re out
Kids' music with a knack for being boring
It’s so easy to amaze them as it is to be fooled
And if music is summed up on a shirt with a slogan
You still don’t get it, they’re selling you hot air
I go to the register and ask how much success costs
If I’d known earlier, maybe I would’ve quit
There’s nothing to understand, nothing to share
Success sometimes takes away the privilege to suffer
It always ends well, otherwise, it’s not over
They’ve always told me, but I don’t really believe it
And no matter how time can heal a wound
I’m not dead yet, and I already want my life back
It’s never been simple for me
But sometimes everything comes back like it’s
There’s a right reason for all this hate I have
What seems simple for you
Becomes complicated like it’s
There’s no right explanation
For all the hate I have
(That I have!)
An opportunity to waste is what I want for me
[J.ax]
It’s just us, changing our names like superheroes
Hiding among vultures with masks of good guys
Big towns disguised as metropolises
We have secrets so private
Then confess them to bartenders and strippers
Artist life between crises and albums
Between risks and disses
Between whiskey and Twitter
And we get critiques on the site:
Go on TV, you suck
You’re doing well, sold out
You’re doing bad, you failed
Success isn’t when they call you a legend
It’s when they start to hate you that you know you’ve hit
And we have the paranoia of flopping
Some substance that calms us down
We have our phones off, an emptiness inside
That only applause can fill
With ink as black as fear
We trace these letters and our destiny
Because writing to sell is worse than censorship
It’s like putting a condom on a pen
So without a filter like when we were kids
Without a clue or reason
Rebellious without pause, every verse a challenge
Just me and my pen against the rest of the world
It’s never been simple for me
But sometimes everything comes back like it’s
There’s a right reason for all this hate I have
What seems simple for you
Becomes complicated like it’s
There’s no right explanation
For all the hate I have
(That I have!)
An opportunity to waste is what I want for me
[(J.ax) Fedez]
(The strength that remains) is all I have
(The voice that remains) is all I have
(As long as hunger doesn’t pass) is all I have
If you think about it, my interests are always the same
And I put them before you
It’s never been simple for me
But sometimes everything comes back like it’s
There’s a right reason for all this hate I have
What seems simple for you
Becomes complicated like it’s
There’s no right explanation
For all the hate I have
(That I have!)
An opportunity to waste is what I want for me
