Gloomy Weather in the City Center
A girl in a phone booth
From inside a bar
A young girl with
a yellow blouse
Unable to leave
the crystal stained.
And how many
police cars!
Amsterdam or Oslo
I remember,
I read the address
on the bus
ticket:
North Sea.
Misunderstood badly
it hasn't been
Heading towards Gare du Nord,
Sitting by the window
and walking street by street
We witness the spectacle
of nightfall
on the street,
Watching the street
spectacle
In the falling night,
And how many
police cars!
The stranger sitting by the window
Reading the newspaper:
Foggy weather over
the capital.
Passed by the spectacles:
A young girl
with a shiny blouse
Girl calls from
the phone booth.
Gloomy weather
in the city center.
We think we could
have done something
Getting on the bus,
Reading instead of
the spectacles.
But here, now,
what to do?
As the bus crosses the city
a question arises
I wonder what
is the nature of this
need Besides,
What is the force
that drives us.
This need for something
else.
What is the difference
between the events
that happen and
those remembered:
The need for a drama
in the city at nightfall?
But here and now
what to do,
Gare du Nord at nightfall.
How many police
in all corners!
A young girl with
a bright yellow blouse.
She said she would come.
But how many turns
will the balloons take
Before we meet again.
