HASTA CUANDO
FERNANDOCOSTA (ES)
UNTIL WHEN
The ghetto child looks for money
The neighborhood kids have no schedule
Until when? Drugs, business, bills, and smuggling
Until when? I'm going to see my kids shivering
Family parents fill the fridge
Mothers unemployed, scrubbing stairs
Police controls on the road
The kids carry us in the fanny pack
Protection flats, marginal neighborhoods
Kids without education but with manners
The help they promise here is worthless
Food banks, social services
I have a couple of buddies who got locked up
Their family bears the weight
Consequences of chasing the cheese
They had to do it because there was no income
Here nobody knows anything, nobody trusts
We don't want to know anything about the police
They look for bread in the cold night
Again sleeping in the police station
The ghetto child looks for money
The neighborhood kids have no schedule
Until when? Drugs, business, bills, and smuggling
Until when? I'm going to see my kids shivering
They did it to find a way out
They did it for a plate of food
Even without money, they are happy
Their hands full of scars
How many times did we crash into the wall?
How many nights did we walk in the dark?
The blows of life were hard
The neighborhood kids build their future
So many nights, so many stories
I keep them all in memory
Life spins like a ferris wheel
They just try to find their way out
Here we have nothing to lose
We learned to walk before we could run
I lost faith long ago
God didn't hear me when I called
The ghetto child looks for money
The neighborhood kids have no schedule
Until when? Drugs, business, bills, and smuggling
Until when? I'm going to see my kids shivering
