O Fado É Meu
Fernando Maurício
The Fate Is Mine
Don't sing my verses, be careful
All the pains of life, I have them
Don't get dirty in the mud of my fate
And don't laugh if I say: The fate is mine
Don't sing my verses with vanity
Because my feeling is true
I write, sing, cry about reality
And the misfortune that goes through the whole world
Don't sing my verses, please
They are sorrows, states of soul, that I gave you
They are dark, very dark, worthless
The nights, so many nights that I cried
Don't sing my verses, throw them away
Annihilate the poet that I am
But never try to laugh, my soul cries
With tears of life, the fate is mine
