Tempus Transit Gelidum

Finisterra Finisterra

Time Passes Cold

Time passes cold
The world is renewed
Spring returns flourishing
Form is given to things
Birds sing
Singing joyfully
The air is now clearer and milder
Now the flowery and leafy forest thickens

Maidens play
Adorned
Whose new songs
Sound sweetly from their mouths
They announce with favor
Birds sing
They favor with scent
The earth painted with flowers

Therefore the heart is surrounded and touched by love
With maidens and birds singing loudly

Now the boy stretches
With a quiver
Who serves in the court
Of the gods
Whose dominion
Is too wide
Through him conquered
I am both triumphant and wounded
I had fought and resisted fiercely
And again through the boy I am prostrated to Venus
