Les Gens Qu'on Aime

The People We Love
I could have dragged along my dreams
I could, as if nothing
Wait here until the day ends
Walk the dog, if I had one
I could have invented inventories
Review and take stock
But this morning I have much more important things to do
Bamdabadabam
This morning, I'll go tell the people I love
Or just thank them for being who they are
Turning my bitter hours into poems
And all those words we keep silent
This morning, I'll go tell the people I love
Oh! How much they mean to me every moment
Sweet words are better than a beautiful requiem
And saying them is important
And saying before it's too late
We always want to wait for the next
Put off until tomorrow
It's much easier to emit hatred
Quite anonymous lurking in one's corner
And our lives flow and the water from the fountains
Everyday life
And the days go by and then the weeks
Bamdabadabam
This morning, I'll go tell the people I love
Or just thank them for being who they are
Turning my bitter hours into poems
And all the words we hide
This morning, I'll go tell the people I love
Oh! How much they mean to me every moment
Sweet words are better than a grand chrysanthemum
And saying it is important
Reminding them from time to time
I could have dragged along my dreams
I could, as if nothing
Wait here until the day ends
Bamdabadabam
We should tell people when we love them
Find the words, find the time
Turning our bitter hours into poems
We should say everything before
We should tell people when we love them
How much they mean to us every moment
Sweet words are better than a beautiful requiem
And as long as we're here alive
Say everything while there's still time
