The Truck Driver's Daughter

This story is a true fact, not long ago it happened
I'm going to talk about an honorable man, who always drove carefully
And listened to a heartfelt country song, in the cabin of his truck
As he passed through his town, to see his family
He parked his trailer, it was a cold dawn
Smiling with open arms, he was heading to his home
To kiss his wife, and hug his beautiful daughter

At the moment he arrived, it was his daughter's school vacation
He was proud of his dear daughter, he always gave her what she asked for
Dedicated and full of love, he never contradicted her
She said: 'Daddy, now I'm on vacation from my school
Good grades in my workbook, I'm turning 15
I want to travel with you, my gift is this trip I want to win'

In response, he said to her: 'This cargo is very dangerous
From Castelo I'm going to Goiás, passing through Bahia to Minas
And you don't know the fatigue of this long road of life
His wife beside him said: 'My love, let her go
Only then will she understand and get to know this Brazilian land
The suffering of a truck driver, to earn his honest money'

She then packed her suitcase and jumped with joy
And as they continued on that road of fatigue, the young girl fell asleep
What a cruel and treacherous fate, the daughter of this truck driver had
In a very sharp curve, the trailer lost control
And collided with another truck, a brutal, fatal accident
That instantly marked, taking the life of this innocent girl
The rescue team that arrived quickly did everything to revive her
To save the young girl's life, the medical teams fought
The efforts were not enough, and in the cabin of that powerful truck
Fate changed its course, so cruelly it suddenly took the life of that girl

Her father, shocked by what happened, fainted and woke up in the hospital
Not knowing what had happened, 'My daughter, tell me where she is?
I need to see her now, I have so much to hug her for
She must be very scared
I want to dry her tears and ask her not to cry'
The doctor replied: 'Your daughter cannot come here
She didn't survive the serious injuries, Jesus took her soul
To live in the Kingdom of Heaven
I scribbled her last words on this piece of paper

'Daddy, don't feel guilty, my destiny was already marked
My fate was on the road in the cabin of your truck
It was a teenage dream, the trip was my gift
I will keep in my heart, I will be a guardian angel
My mission will be to protect truck drivers

Here ends my story
I will be a guardian angel, protector of truck drivers
I will be a guardian angel, protector of truck drivers
