Rosie
Francis Cabrel
Rosie
She was already there long before
The trucks rolled in,
She spun around like a child,
A doll behind the scenes.
It was easy to talk to her,
We exchanged a few words,
I gave her my pass
So she could come in and see the show.
She sat next to me
On some beer crates,
While I mixed the sound for the band,
On the stage in the back,
She stared at them like she’d burn her skin,
I thought she was so beautiful,
After the last song,
The drummer left with her.
Oh Rosie, everything's white,
Your eyes light me up,
Having had you for a moment,
I was so proud,
All I have left now,
Is the urge to screw it all up,
And start the night over...
....Rosie.
I guess I should've seen it coming,
That she was here for the stars,
And stopped myself from imagining
Her in my arms later,
All this time I've been trembling,
Tonight I finally understood,
Don’t say who I look like,
Say who I am.
Oh Rosie, everything's white,
Your eyes light me up,
Having had you for a moment,
I was so proud,
All I have left now,
Is the urge to screw it all up,
And start the night over...
Start the night over...
Rosie... Rosie... Rosie... Rosie
