Assis Sur Le Rebord Du Monde
Francis Cabrel
Sitting on the Edge of the World
If I have all my memory
Said God in a corner of the sky
I had started a story
On a new planet, all blue
Blue, so as not to confuse it
I'm going to go sit on the edge of the world
See what men did with it
I put people passing through there
I mixed the colors
I taught them to share
They had rehearsed by heart
"Always"! everyone always in the same round
I'm going to go sit on the edge of the world
See what men did with it
I remember telling the men
For every girl a hill of flowers
Then I planted apple trees
Where everyone took a hearty bite
And everywhere, everywhere deep rivers
I'm going to go sit on the edge of the world
See what men did with it
Suddenly the whole city stops
It seems that the rivers have grown
The children approach, worry
And ask "why all the noise?"
Without doubt, God and his blond beard
God who sat on the edge of the world
And who cries to see him as he is!
God who sat on the edge of the world
And who cries to see him as he is.
