A Despedida de Um Vaqueiro
Francis Lopes
The Farewell of a Cowboy
The farewell of a cowboy
Is heart-wrenching
He tries to control himself
But can't help but cry
How great is the emotion
He has tried everything
He has shed his sweat
Now he wants to go further
Leaving the family well
To give a better life
The pain explodes in his chest
When he leaves the backlands
And the whole family cries
Seeing him go away
In search of a solution
He thinks about the journey
Leaving those who stayed sad
But he follows his destiny
Thinking about the boys
He left behind
And he continues on the road
In search of what he dreamed
And sometimes for a second
He thinks the world
Has collapsed on him
But he moves forward
Asking God to guide him
To return is what he wants most
Or else take his wife
To live with him
And he continues on the road
In search of what he dreamed
And sometimes for a second
He thinks the world
Has collapsed on him
But he moves forward
Asking God to guide him
To return is what he wants most
Or else take his wife
To stay with him
To return is what he wants most
Or else take his wife
To stay with him
