Los Ojos Más Lindos
Francisco Canaro
The Prettiest Eyes
I have a love
that bewilders me,
that drives me crazy!
I doubt her love...
I live plucking
white daisies,
to see if I exist
in her heart.
(spoken)
And the daisies
tell me sometimes
that she loves me a lot,
and other times a little,
and sometimes they say: 'No!'
The prettiest eyes
that my eyes have seen,
are the two stars
that light up her face.
I know I love her;
I know, I adore her;
I know that, without her,
life is not life,
without her I die!...
I know I love her,
I know, I adore her!
Why this self-love,
why so much pride
if everything is love!
I long for a love
very passionate,
full of tenderness,
full of illusion.
That my joys
are also hers,
and my sorrows
are her pain.
I long for a love
that shares mine;
that gives me her soul
as I give her mine!
