Dos Mayates
Francisco Gabilondo Soler (Cri Cri)
Two Mayates
Two mayates,
A pair of very bright beetles,
They go together on the way to the flowerbeds
That are at the back of the garden,
Where the sun stays warm.
Two mayates,
Chubby like chocolates,
They stumble and trip tenaciously
Trying to finally reach
The little herbs warmed by the sun.
One is lame,
The other too,
That doesn't matter,
They get along very well
Step by step
Taking their time to walk,
When will they arrive.
Two mayates,
If you see them, don't step on them, don't kill them,
The poor insects are incapable
Of causing you any harm,
They are looking for the warm sun.
