The Calendar
The days go by
the poor Calendar
feels himself thinning
extraordinarily.
Its paper leaves
time tears them off
and it has feelings
because it's about to end.
The rabbit Chúchus
already has whiskers,
he wears
big, big pants.
He walks along the sidewalk
whistling, whistling
and Mrs. Fox says
she saw him smoking.
The rabbit Chúchus
now writes little verses
to a bunny
with pretty eyes.
So many things happen
and so many will happen
while the Calendar
feels himself thinning!
The rabbit Chúchus
is no longer the same
he only cares about
elegant clothes.
And his dreams
have changed direction
he spends whole days
dreaming of scooters.
The rabbit Chúchus
grew very tall
he no longer wants stories
he prefers sports.
So many things happen
and so many will happen
while the Calendar
feels himself thinning!
