La Cocorica

The Cock-a-doodle-doo
The hen came out, went for a walk
with her ten chicks in the yard.
Mrs. Cock-a-doodle-doo makes them see
what every chick should know:
First, learn that here in the yard
their father the Rooster is the authority;
every day, early, his voice is heard,
because he orders the Sun to rise.
Mrs. Cock-a-doodle-doo got attached
to the ten chicks that God gave her,
as soon as they hatched
and they all know the lesson well.
Now chicks will have to look for
a little worm for a snack.
And seeing them scratching for a worm,
the sweet Hen is very happy.
Mrs. Cock-a-doodle-doo with simplicity
feels proud of who she is.
Looking at the blond ones under her feet,
they are balls of English wool.
Listen chicks, you shouldn't run
because you're little, you might fall.
The foolish chicks will be eaten
by the crafty cats or the hawk.
The crafty cats
or the hawk...
