Un Tempo Piccolo
Franco Califano
A Little While
I grew up in a little while
I jumped out of bed to feel free
I painted my face like a clown
And drank vodka on the rocks
I hit the street and blended in with the traffic
I rolled uphill like I was magic
And touched the ground while staying balanced
I became a tree to sway
I changed my gaze to look elsewhere
And tried to mess up to feel like a mistake
I painted my soul on a blank canvas
And mixed vodka with tonic water
I had lunch late at dinner time
And turned to the book like a person
I looked at the canvases with an ironic air
And gambled my memories, taking a risk
Then to be reborn under the stars
I suddenly forgot a crazy past
In a little while
I tricked the pain with some red wine
And fined my heart for any excess
I fell asleep with an old record
I told a life I won’t disclose
I gathered the world in a mixed meal
I painted my soul on a blank canvas
And mixed vodka with tonic water
I had lunch late at dinner time
And turned to the book like a person
I looked at the canvases with an ironic air
And gambled my memories, taking a risk
Then to be reborn under the stars
I suddenly forgot a crazy past
In a little while
And I gambled my memories, taking a risk
Then to be reborn under the stars
I suddenly forgot a crazy past
In a little while
