Zwei Schöne Jahre
Frank Schöbel
Two Beautiful Years
I sat alone in the bar, lost in thought
Where we used to dream together, just us two
I’d been drinking my beer for hours
Then you walked in through the door
I know for sure, this can’t be just a coincidence
Two beautiful years, what a time it was
I’ve never regretted a single hour
We were young and in love and so blind
Two beautiful years, don’t ask where they are
Wouldn’t it be possible for everything to start again
Like kids, we’d fight for whole days
But the making up afterward was always nice
But suddenly you were gone
Not a letter, not a word
And now I see you standing in front of me again.
Two beautiful years, what a time it was
I’ve never regretted a single hour
We were young and in love and so blind
Two beautiful years, don’t ask where they are
Wouldn’t it be possible for everything to start again
Back then, I thought I could forget you
I was so sad and lost my courage
Of the girls I saw
None of them felt close to me
But now I hope, things will be good for us both
Two beautiful years, what a time it was
I’ve never regretted a single hour
We were young and in love and so blind
Two beautiful years, don’t ask where they are
Wouldn’t it be possible for everything to start again
Two beautiful years, what a time it was.
