Erstarrung

I'm searching in the snow in vain
For the trace of her steps
Where she walked by my side
Through the green fields

I want to kiss the ground
Break through ice and snow
With my burning tears
Until I see the earth

Where can I find a flower?
Where can I find green grass?
The flowers have all died
The lawn looks so pale

Is there no memory
I can take from here?
When my pain falls silent
Who will tell me about her?

My heart feels like it's frozen
Cold stares her image within
If my heart ever melts again
Her image will fade away too
