Today I had a nightmare
And woke up alert, in time
I woke up scared
And searched in the dark
For someone with your tenderness
And remembered a time

Because the past brings me a memory
Of a time when I was a child
And fear was a reason for tears
An excuse for a hug, a comfort

Today I woke up scared
But didn't cry or seek shelter
From the dark, I saw the infinite
Without present, past, or future
I felt a strong embrace, it wasn't fear anymore
It was something of yours that stayed in me
And has no end

Suddenly, we realize we lost
Or are losing something
Warm and naive that remains along the way
Which is dark and cold, but also beautiful because it's illuminated
By the beauty of what happened minutes or years ago
