Water Balloon
The candy apples lined up, the path I walk with you
My heart races as the sound of drums echoes through
A water balloon slips through my fingers
Bursting on the ground, soaking the hem of my summer yukata
It's summer's fault
It's not love
Feeling bittersweet
Just when I thought it would only hurt, I held back
Your hand pulls me in
The sound of my heart, the night breeze
Even though I'm confused, I want to know you more
A warm breeze brushes my cheek
I look up at the sky where thunder starts to rumble
The clouds drift by
Summer slips away
I still don’t want to go home
I want to know why you touched me, it feels dangerous
Side by side, we silently climb the hill
Your kindness matches my pace, it becomes dear to me
The burst water balloon won’t come back
I’ve realized it too
There’s no turning back now
Your hand pulls me in
My hair
Your touching fingers
It’s not anyone else, it’s your warmth that feels right
