They were three gossiping friends

each from a different neighborhood
sarandilla andare, sarandilla aié.

They prepared a snack
to go to San Andrés.

One put thirty eggs
ten for each.

Another brought a pie
three elbows wide.

Another brought a little flask
two pitchers by three.

Around midnight
Inés' husband came.

And they all said to him
