Por entre as silveiras
Fuxan Os Ventos
Among the Silveiras
AMONG THE SILVEIRAS -
SINGING HAPPILY THE BIRDS.
ANNOUNCING TO ALL -
WITH GREAT SPLENDOR;
THAT THE CHILD WAS BORN -
MORE EXCELLENT AND MORE BEAUTIFUL
WHO BECOMES THE SON OF OUR LORD.-
To Bethlehem come, shepherds,
for a Child is born
who is, my Goodness, shivering,
oh!, shivering with cold;
And the Poor Child is trembling
and no one runs to warm him;
only a little ox, with his breath,
warmed the Child, without rest!
The little sheep, grazing,
by the stream bank,
bellow because the King of Earth and Heaven is born.
And all the birds, with their chirping,
celebrate together Christmas;
with their songs, without rest,
they praise the Child who is in the Manger.
