La Mia Anima Canta

My soul sings
of the greatness of the Lord,
my spirit rejoices
in my Savior.

In my poverty
the Infinite has looked upon me,
every creature forever
will call me blessed.

My joy is in the Lord
who has done great things for me,
my praise to the faithful God
who has helped His people
and has not forgotten
His promises of love.

He has scattered the proud
in their unconfessed thoughts,
He has brought down the mighty,
He has lifted up the humble,
He has filled the hungry
and opened His hands to the rich.
