Where they think they have won

Of course I think about the street
I know the neighborhood is hurt
The children are not playing
The block is silent

They say it's better at home
Because of some damn virus
I think there are more sick people
Because of the fear they've instilled

Lots of sensationalist news
I see that on social media
But the world is always wise
And it was due for a good break

No one wants to see deaths
Especially of a loved one
It's time to stay apart
But stay united
Give each other words of encouragement
Call all your friends
Tell them we'll be fine
That we'll soon get through this

It's hard to stay at home
In the system we live in
It's empathy lessons
But we never learned it
We all saw it coming
Today it's time to stand tall
Give thanks to life
For family and a roof
There are strong rumors of crisis
Also of job loss
Rumors of the end of the world
That everything will get ugly
All that I tell you
Is what I read on social media

We are more misinformed
Than informed from what I see
It's time to stand up
Of course I was scared
But then just think
If they can, then I can
