Terra Plana
Geraldo Vandré
Flat Earth
My lord, my lady
They asked me to set aside all sadness
To only bring joys and not talk about poverty
And furthermore: They promised that if I sang happily, it pleased for sure
I, who cannot deceive, mix everything I live
I sing without a competitor, starting from the nature of the place where I was born
I make verses clearly, with rhyme, beauty, and sadness
I don't separate pain from love
I make it clear that the firmness of my singing comes from the certainty I have
That the power that grows over poverty and makes the weak rich
Is what made me a singer
My lord, my lady
I'm going out into this world
In a song that is so brave
That even if one is content
It always speaks and at all times
Almost in a tone of someone crying
I am from a flat land
From a deep sky and a very wide sea
I need a long song
To explain everything I say
To never fail myself
And give you everything I bring
At the feet of many churches
There you will find
Hope and charity
Wanting to organize
A thousand blind people begging for alms
And the whole Earth praying
If one day I face you
Don't be scared, captain
I only shoot to kill
And never mistreat
In front of my sight
There is no pain, nor loneliness
And I don't do it as punishment
That God is responsible for punishing
And if He doesn't punish
I don't want his place
I just shoot right
In the life that is directed
To take my life
