O Olhar de Jesus
Gerson Rufino
The Look of Jesus
Before the rooster crows three times
You will deny me, Jesus said to Peter
And Peter replied, I tell you my Lord if necessary
I will die with you, but I do not deny you, my master
And in the cold dawn, the soldiers beat him without fear and without mercy
But Peter looked, not believing what he was seeing
Then a woman approached Peter and asked him
Are you one of them, were you with them?
Peter then denied
But what Peter saw was the gaze of the gentle master
Seeking his gaze
And the rooster crowed, great was the pain in Peter's soul
How it marked, the look of Jesus in Peter's eyes
Peter remembered and even cried in repentance
This is his gaze deeper than the sea
Stronger than a volcano
Faster than the wind
Than any thought
It is the gaze of my Jesus inside your heart
This is his penetrating gaze like a sword
Shines brighter than a diamond
Cuts more than a razor
God's gaze does not fail
Believe that this gaze is looking at you
