Esquecido em Betesda
Gerson Rufino
Forgotten in Bethesda
Hey! I was born crippled, sick without affection
Those who looked at me said I was a curse
I was never carried in the arms, not even by my siblings
Hey! They arranged a bed and left me there fallen
By my parents, I wasn't well received in this world
And by the pool in Bethesda, I was forgotten
Without relatives, I was left there in the corner
At night, I cried looking at the sky
Hoping for an angel to touch the water
But when the angel touched, I shouted for someone
The pain was great, but no one came
While I shouted, another came in my place
One day from afar, I saw a different man
When I saw him standing in front of me, I shouted:
Who is this and what does this man want now
He said: do you want to be healed, I tried to argue
Before I could even argue, he said
Get up, take your mat and go away
Those who saw me crippled on the bed
Now see me carrying this bed
Those who saw me crying now see me smiling
And those who hated me now love me
Those who didn't hug me, I want to hug
Those who cursed me, I want to bless
I was left there, but Jesus already loved me
And passed by
It was him, it was him
It was him who appeared to take care of me
It is him, it is him
It is him who will bring an end to your anguish
