Primer Tren A Marte
Gianluca Grignani
First Train to Mars
The first train to Mars, everyone’s a bit nervous, ready, it’s leaving now. There’s someone saying, with a shaky voice, that the earth is dead, that no one should remain. And people are crowding, it makes me sad to see them, everyone wants to leave, to get out... ...in April everything is born, and the earth is dying, and it’s all gonna end. This is the flight, that comes and goes, a modern train that will run without tracks. It covers distances I know too well, open spaces, fragility. I observe planets, a solid reality, I discover secrets, cities to dream of. I’m going on a journey, even within myself, and if outside is the universe, it’s immense inside me. Why...when the flight has taken off, there’s not a sound to be heard. When a child asks how the world has fallen, who could have built it. And people go silent, not knowing what to tell him, without having to lie to him, -not wanting to hurt him-... ...and the earth is far away and it’s gonna die...
