Don't you remember that April,
that long train heading to the border
and carrying thousands of the alpine troops
come on, it's time to leave.
After three days on the railway
and two more of long journey
we arrived at Canine Mountain
and under clear skies, we have to rest.
If you're hungry, look into the distance,
if you're thirsty: cup in hand,
if you're thirsty, cup in hand,
the snow will refresh us.
