Quelli Erano i Giorni

Those Were the Days
Once upon a time there was a street,
a good wind took me there.
And if memory serves me right
you showed up on the corner.
Those were days, yes, they were days,
in the world you can't ask for more.
We danced even without music,
there was much more in our hearts.
La ra la ra la la...
We lived in a bubble of air
flying above the city.
People pointed at us
saying, 'Look at the happiness!'
Those were days, yes, they were days,
nothing could ever stop us.
When the traffic light turned red
we happily crossed even more.
La ra la ra la ra...
Then, as time goes by, even roses
one morning stop blooming.
And so things went,
even the good wind never blew again.
Those were days, oh yes, they were days,
in the world you can't ask for more.
And thinking back, it brings a lump here,
and if I sing, it doesn't mean.
La ra la ra la ra...
Today I returned to that street,
a good memory brought me there.
You were among a group of people
and you were saying: 'My dear friends...'
Those were days, yes, they were days,
in the world you can't ask for more.
We danced even without music,
there was much more in our hearts.
La ra la ra la ra...
We danced even without music,
our youth passed by there.
La ra la ra la ra...
