Perdão Emília

Forgiveness Emilia
Everything is asleep, the night comes in between.
The hazy moon rising beyond.
All is silent; only the owl's hoot is heard on the graves in cruel disdain.
Then, a figure in black clothing,
Entered the cemetery slowly.
Bowing fearfully near the tomb,
Spoke in a sad voice with these words:
- Tyrant monster, why do you come now
To remind me of the sorrows I went through because of you?
In that world where I lived crying,
Since the moment I saw and loved you.
The time has come for revenge,
But you, ungrateful, will not have forgiveness...
God does not forgive all your sins,
You will have fair punishment, then.
But this figure in black clothing,
Fell suddenly onto the cold ground.
And when dawn broke, on the tombstone
A lifeless body was seen sleeping:
- Forgiveness, Emilia, if I took your life,
If I was impure, cruel, daring...
Forgiveness, Emilia, if I stained your lips.
Forgiveness, Emilia, for a wretched soul.
