A Ciência Em Si
Gilberto Gil
The Science Itself
If every coincidence
Tends to be understood
And every legend
Wants to arrive here
Science is not learned
Science apprehends
The science itself
If every shooting star
Falls to make sense
And every myth
Wants to have flesh here
Science is not taught
Science inseminates
The science itself
If what can be seen, heard, touched, measured, weighed
From the jet plane to the tortoise
Awakens what has not yet been able to be thought
From the eternal sleep to the eternal becoming
As the earth's orbit embraces the vacuum slowly
To reach what was already here
If belief wants to materialize
As much as experience wants to abstract
Science does not advance
Science achieves
The science itself
