Back In Bahia

Back In Bahia
There in London, from time to time I felt far from here
From time to time, when I felt far, I realized
Pulling my hair
Nervous, wanting to hear Celly Campelo so as not to fall
Into that slump
Where I saw a buddy of mine from Portobello fall
In that lack
Of judgment that I had no reason to enjoy
In that absence
Of warmth, color, salt, sun, heart to feel
So much longing
Preserved in an old silver chest inside me
I say in a silver chest because silver is the moonlight
The moonlight that I missed so much by the sea
Sea of Bahia
Whose green from time to time made me remember well
So different
From the green, also so beautiful, of the grassy fields over there
Northern island
Where I don't know if by luck or by punishment I ended up stopping
For some time
Which eventually passed quickly, as everything has to pass
Today I feel
As if going away was necessary to come back
So much more alive
With a more lived life, divided here and there
There in London, from time to time I felt far from here
From time to time, when I felt far, I realized
Pulling my hair
Nervous, wanting to hear Celly Campelo so as not to fall
Into that slump
Where I saw a buddy of mine from Portobello fall
In that lack of judgment that I had no reason to enjoy
In that absence
Of warmth, color, salt, sun, heart to feel
So much longing
Preserved in an old silver chest inside me
I say in a silver chest because silver is the moonlight
