The world will pass and all prophecy
The gifts, the tongues and everything else that exists
But as the one who was
Today is and forever will be
Love is the essence of God
And will also live forever

Kind and without resentment, faithful and aware
Humble and suffering, waiting only
Just and true, endures all and believes all
So pure and perfect is love
Does not seek interest or favor
Mystery, expression, life and light of the Lord

If I could know destinies or futures
Move mountains with my faith
If I could speak any language
Anywhere
And give my possessions to the poorest
Or die in favor of someone

If I didn't have love, it would be worth nothing
If I didn't have love, I would have no benefit
Cold and senseless life would pass
Empty would be the talk
A bell that insists on ringing
If love didn't matter within me
