The Gospel
I feel true amazement in my heart
To realize that the gospel has changed
Who was a servant yesterday now considers himself a Lord
And tells God how He should be
But the true gospel exalts God
It is as clear as the water I drank
And its essence and power are not negotiable
If camouflaged, excellence will be lost!
The gospel is what unveils our eyes
And unties every knot that has been made
However, no one will be set free without crying out
Repentant at the feet of Christ, the King of kings
The gospel shows man dead in his sin
Unable to rise on his own
Unless Jesus, who is just, pulls him from where he is
And justifies him, presenting him to the Father
It also shows the justice of a God
Who is much greater than any force or fiction
Who would not be unjust if He let me perish
But sovereign in grace, He chose me
That's why I can't forget
Being His servant, I don't tell Him what to do
Determining or setting a time for things to happen
What His will will reveal
