Poderoso Em Deus

Powerful I am in God
In Him I am strong
Goes ahead of the battle our guide
In front of him a column, shining
In his right hand there is a fire that consumes evil
Tremendous God, powerful, my stronghold
Takes man out of sin and makes him a servant
Seals the gates of the kingdom and changes the laws
Opens and closes the grave, to prove that He is God
Takes down the thrones of the proud to remove the ego
Puts down the exalted, but gives grace to His
Uses the humblest man and makes him a king
Gives understanding to the layman and puts him in power.

He used a donkey to prophesy
Made iron float in the deep waters
Raised the bones of a dead prophet
Opened a path in the sea for Israel to pass
Made the flour in the pot multiply
The oil in the jar never ceased to flow
Sent manna to the people in the desert
Made water flow from the rock for Ishmael and Hagar.

Made the heated furnace not burn the men
Made the hungry beast reject its prey
Made a small boy defeat a Philistine
Fed a crowd with five loaves and two fish
Gave the young dreamer the possession of government
Made a king wear sackcloth and ashes
When the mountain smoked, He was there
Made the bush burn and not be consumed
